Copper Hickory Nut Necklace

18'' Chain. This hickory nut and husk were foraged separately and then epoxied together. The nut itself was first coated in latex to protect it from the electroplating bath. The husk on its own was then plated, revealing a contrasting look of both a natural and metallic finish. Most pieces are then soaked in a patina to create a weathered look.
